This is a boulder opal pendant bead from the Winton area of Queensland in Australia. It is drilled through side to side near the top. The lightning bolt of opal goes clear through the piece front to back although it is more prominent on the side pictured. I'm picking up a slight play of color. This is an unusually interesting piece.
